Subject: Re: [sloan-25mlog 2069] focus ring setup From: Kaike Pan Date: Tue, 20 Jan 2015 12:41:57 -0700 Hi Elena, We should use the midpoint of two extreme (the lowest and highest), not = average. So SP1 from -2.3 to 2.0, it=92s almost perfect. SP2 from -3.2 to 1.3, if we adjust the residual -1.0 degrees (move B2 = focus ring by +2 degrees), we will have residual distribution of -2.2 to 2.3. = However, this set of cartridges don=92t include some extreme cartridge. If all = cartridges are used, we usually have residual distribution of -3.5 to +3.5 degrees (not much = room for=20 adjustment). Consider all of these factors, I recommend that we don=92t = adjust focus rings if all residuals are within -3.5 to +3.5 degrees.=20 -kaike > On Jan 20, 2015, at 12:26 PM, Elena Malanushenko = wrote: >=20 > Kaike and all,=20 >=20 > I looked at for last night hartmann residuals > Sunday January 18, 2015 (SJD 57041) > Ct b1 b2 (residuals) > 12 2.0 -2.7 > 13 0.2 -1.7 > 14 0.8 1.3 > 15 0.3 -2.2 > 3 -1.6 -3.2 > 1 -1.3 -2.7 > 4 -2.3 -1.7 > ---------------------------- > avr b2 -1.84 >=20 > I wanted to adjust b2 residuals by -2 degrees. > Based on our method, I needed to turn b2 by -4. >=20 > I did preliminary hartmann, got b2 res 0.8 as reference. > And my goal was to change it to 2.8. >=20 > To be on safe side, I adjusted blue ring by -2 degrees > first (instead of -4), and got b2 residuals 3.3.=20 > As 0.5 difference is in our range, I accepted this.=20 >=20 > Regards, Elena >=20 > >=20 > On 01 /20/ 15, at 11:50 AM, Joseph Huehnerhoff wrote: >=20 >> Excellent, thank you for confirming. =20 >>=20 >> Joe >>=20 >>> On Jan 20, 2015, at 10:48 AM, Kaike Pan wrote: >>>=20 >>>=20 >>> Yes, the last movement is always from the positive side.
