This is the last night before the Summer shutdown. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The night was lost due to a combination of clouds and high humidity. We got a massive internet connection failure between different hosts on site in the night. Everything is restored except APOGEE collimator, which is in zero position and cannot be initialized. The standard recovery procedure was applied but did not help. Need attention from Matt Nelson, who will be on site in the day time. ---- Observing Log ---- AFTERNOON CHECKOUT: =================== 01:13Z APOGEE short dark - ok; grabbed mirror numbers - ok, except for M2 Axial C (due to battery change); platedb checked -ok; actors tested -ok; gcamera/guider- prepped and ready. Checked cart bay - is ready to go. Checked fiducials - ok; 01:44Z Cautiously ventilation. Clearing in the east. Opening delayed because of a radar return nearby. Night: ------ 03:45Z ventilation stopped because of approaching radars and nearby lightnings. 05:25:49 tcc got disconnected 05:27:02 STUI disconnected on both computers int he control room. Numerous errors about time out. We were unable to connect to STUI for ~ 5 min. Called Jon Brinkmann Connection to external internet sites started to restore in ~ 10 min after this. Within the next hour we were able to restore most actors, connect tcc and MCP. Jon restarted APOGEE actor - the last that did not restored itself. Took test exposure. Attempted to do a 3-read dark - button "Expose" in the "APOGEE" menu gets grey and irresponsible. No actual exposure is started. Matt Nelson supposed to be on site, but we were unable to wake him up.
