Note to engineers: The cooling system at southeast corner of the lower enclosure is dropping liquid (Glycol?). Please check. ---- Observing Plan ---- Sat 27 DEC 2014 57019.0 0.39 00:44 12:52 00:06 12:16 ---- APOGEE-2 until 06:41 ( 6.0 h), then MaNGA ( 6.2 h) ---- Observing Log ---- Afternoon: ========== Removed snow and ices in 25m apron and cartridge bay area. BOSS collimation was checked with cart 11. B1 was adjusted by 6 degrees. B2 by -3 degree. 23:48:10 Hartmann collimate output on cart #11 sp1: offset: r=-659 (In Focus); b=-1.4 (In Focus) sp1: pred. move: spAverageMove= -105 sp1: pred. spResiduals: r=-554, b=-1.7, txt=OK, spTemp = 1.5 sp2: offset: r=315 (In Focus); b=0.6 (In Focus) sp2: pred. move: spAverageMove= 63 sp2: pred. spResiduals: r=252, b=1.0, txt=OK, spTemp = 0.6 Guider cart= 11, pl= 7856, side= A (loaded); motorPosition sp1: 16586, 16515, 16042; sp2: 14622, 13811, 14973; Median spectrographs temperatures: Tsp1= 1.4, Tsp2= 0.7; Outside air temperature= -7.7; APOGEE evening calibration were taken. The known bias structure is back. Otherwise, data look normal. The cooling system at southeast corner of the lower enclosure is dropping liquid (Glycol?). We dried the floor and put a container there. Please check the system tomorrow. High humidity, no evening ventilation. Night: ====== 02:40Z - Humidity seems very unstable. It gets better, than worse again. On top of that, we have reached the -10C temperature limit. We will not open until it gets warmer outside. 09:52Z - Beginning to warm up slightly (-9C), but now the wind has picked up to 30 mph, blowing the snow off of the trees and roofs. It sure does seem like it is snowing outside even though the sky is clear. The rain sensor went off and it looks like we could shovel the sidewalks again. 12:15Z - Conditions are not getting better. We will try again tomorrow night.
