John P ran some tests with APOGEE/SOP. We observed the following plates: Cart 9, 6769 - 1x ABBA - Missing: 45 - Faint: 177, 197, 284. Cart 8, 6776 - 2x ABBA - Missing: 184 - Faint: 177 Cart 7, 6846 - 1x ABBA - Missing: None - Faint: 133, 177, 188, 268 Cart 3, 6847 - 2x ABBA - Missing: None - Faint: 177, 188, 248, 250 Cart 5, 6902 - 2x ABBA - Missing: None - Faint: 40, 177 Cart 4, 5823 - 1.5x ABBA - Missing: None - Faint: 177, 188, 284 11:47Z - Started APOGEE Morning Cals, BOSS 20x Bias, 1x 900s dark ----- Computer Problems ----- STUI is running slowly on mindru. It acts glitchy at times and integration bars/timers sometimes don't update for 3-5s. Viktors Guider Window on landru lost the bottom row of buttons: Expose, Center Up, Guide, Stop Guiding, X or DS9. It also apparently stopped updating the pictures even though it was set to Current. This eventually went away after clicking the left arrow to look at previous images, then checking the current box. ---- Observing Log ---- Afternoon: ---------- --Test Actors, 23:41:21 -- Status, 2013-04-25, 23:41:08 Enclosure = closed; cwPositions = 276 276 274 275; MCP instr = 7 (mounted); Guider cart= 7, plate= 6846, side= A (loaded); ---------- motorPosition sp1: 541, 508, 599; sp2: -1203, -2388, -2349; ---------- Median spectrographs temperatures: Tsp1= 12.0, Tsp2= 11.5; Outside air temperature= 15.5; ---------- Boss CCD Temp : sp1r0= -124.6 (-126.6); sp1b2= -99.6 (-100.0); sp2r0= -134.4 (-134.8); sp2b2= -100.8 (-100.0); sp1LN2: 10.0; sp2LN2: 10.0; ---------- gcameraTemp= -40.0 (-40.0) gcamera simulating = Off Rel. John P wanted to run some APOGEE/SOP tests. Test 1: AA Dither Test 2x ABBA, 20s exposures. Gang Connector in Podium. Bypassed FFS, gangPodium. Manually opened both shutters, turned on UNe lamps. Bypassed FFS, gangPodium. Manually opened both shutters, turned on UNe lamps. As soon as the first A started, I modified to ABBA and it changed sequence to 1x ABBA. As soon as the first A started, I attempted to modify to ABBA, while leaving count at 2. It spit out an error (see below). I then changed it back to AB, clicked modify, and changed count to 1, clicked modify. Then changed to ABBA with count still at 1 and it worked. Gang Connector in Podium. Bypassed FFS, gangPodium. Manually opened both shutters, turned on UNe lamps. When it got to the 2nd B, I modified to 1x AB to see if it would fail or give an error message. Nothing happened, but it stopped the exposure sequence after the second B, so it only did an ABB. John would like an error message for this. Restarting sop and trying test 7 again. When it got to the 2nd B, I modified to 1x AB to see if it would fail or give an error message. No error was produced, but it did stop the sequence after the second B, doing only an ABB. Files: 8460037-8460039 02:42:20 APO.parejkoj: Essentially, anything that changes the whole sequence to be shorter than the current position in the old sequence will give that warning and stop after the current dither. 02:49:18 APO.parejkoj: So, I think similarly, if you have 1xABBA and are at ABB and command 1xAB, it should warn and then stop after the current dither. 02:48:29 APO.parejkoj: E.g., previously, if you had 2xABBA, and were on ABBAAB and commanded seq count to 1, it would warn and then stop after the current dither. ---- Test 7v4: 1x ABBA-AB change after ABB 1x ABBA, 20s exposures. Gang Connector in Podium. Bypassed FFS, gangPodium. Manually opened both shutters, turned on UNe lamps. When it got to the 2nd B, I modified to 1x AB to see if it would fail or give an error message.
