We completed a collimation test for Kaike. The rest of the night was lost due to radar returns and sporadic rain showers. We observed the following plates: Cart 3, 6246 - 2x ABBA Sequences Cart 1, 6763 - 1x ABBA Sequences 11:53Z - Started APOGEE Morning Cals and BOSS 20x Bias, 1x 900s dark ----- Engineering ----- The North West wind baffle corner piece, by the panel that is removed to climb inside the telescope and clean the mirror, has 1 quarter turn lock tab that is broken. When the telescope is at stow, it is on that corner piece closest to the west end, facing the floor. That corner of the windbaffle corner piece can not be closed and it needs to be replaced (the locking nut, not the wind baffle corner piece). I put a piece of tap on the panel pointing to the nut that is missing. At 2:45Z, one of the flat field lights burned out (The southeast). We grabbed the spare and replaced it very quickly, losing less than 5min. The burnt out bulb is sitting on the round table in the engineering table. ---- Observing Log ---- Afternoon: ========== SP2 mechanics was not talking last night, Dan rebooted it today. It was working. During afternoon checked, we found it does not communicate anymore. Dan trace down it was due to the the mechanic serious port connection. We temporarily taped it down. Dan and Jon will re-terminate it on Monday since BOSS will not resume till 1/30. We home BOSS collimator and re-adjust the title. APOGEE evening calibs wee taken and checked.
