   He did not help, other than by writing "yup" and waiting. The 'boss
ping' command did not report the controllers as OK because it was sent
during the flush for a just-started bias exposure, sent from the same
STUI. True, it should probably give a more nuanced report on the
controller status, but I'll suggest that liveness should be checked
before any exposures are started.
