Could someone (Wendell?) check the UPS that supplies the MCP/MEI crate, or look for any other likely cause? The night was lost due to severe weather conditions that include high wind, high dust, low temperature, high humidity, and blowing snow. ---- Observing Log ---- Afternoon: --------- 22:04Z - MARVELS ThAr lamp on 22:24Z - APOGEE evening cals started MARVELS bias, TIO, ThAr taken - they look normal. 23:40Z - Checkout at the telescope completed. As I was finishing checking the fiducial crossings, the telescope started an unrequested slew in azimuth and the MCP became unavailable. A hard boot of the MCP was required. Jon monitored the boot remotely, and mentioned that this was the second time the MCP had gone down in three or four days. We ask that Wendell have a look at the UPS the MCP crate uses and/or check the connections to the crate. 00:50Z - BOSS bias and dark, gcamera dark taken - in spec APOGEE cals checked - they look normal. Engineering camera still on telescope. Ventilation delayed due to high winds and high dust count (blowing snow) Night: ----- We did not open because of numerous weather issues: High wind, high dust, high humidity, blowing snow, and finally low temperature. APOGEE calibrations and autoscheduler were started in the morning.
