The lower left (-X,-Y) region of the S/N residuals plot for cartridge 15 looks far worse than the rest of the plate. Will the day crew please re-check this cartridge/plate before it is unplugged (e.g. profilometry)? ---- Observing Log ---- Afternoon: --------- 20:41Z - Actors checked. All OK Gcamera dark, BOSS bias, dark taken A test of the absolute position of the sp1 collimator was run for Kyle. The details are in an email sent to both Kyle and sdss-infrastructure. After the test, the b1 and r1 rings were put back to their original positions and collimation was re-checked: With r1, r2 in focus on cartridge 10 COLLIMATE: Predict blue camera ring movement of -4.5 degrees for spectro-1 COLLIMATE: Predict blue camera ring movement of 7.2 degrees for spectro-2 The focus rings are back to where they were before the tests. Collimation double-checked with sos doHartmann. 00:15Z - Ventilation started. Cartridge 1 mounted. The cartridge 1 sp2 slithead appeared to hang on the rubber bumper strip on the the slithead opening. I lowered the cartridge and went up again slowly and there were no problems mounting the cartridge. Other than that, afternoon checkout was trouble-free. APOGEE took test sky exposures during twilight on cart. 1, 5545 while we waited for the LN2 fill to conclude and waited for the sky to darken to start BOSS.
