Completed monthly MARVELS calibration sequence. Backed up BOSS spectro monthly checkout data and pointing model data to sdss-gateway. Some snow made its way into the enclosure along the West door. ---- Observing Log ---- Afternoon: --------- About one inch of snow fell, and the day crew cleared the telescope and walkways. More snow is likely. 22:36Z - actors checked - all OK. MARVELS bias taken gcamera dark, BOSS bias, dark, flat, arc, Hartmanns taken. with r1, r2 in focus on cartridge 15, sp1Temp = 2.9, sp2Temp = 2.3: Predict blue camera ring movement of -6.2 degrees for spectro-1 Predict blue camera ring movement of 3.6 degrees for spectro-2 Collimation should still be in spec and similar to last night. No adjustments made. No problems during checkout at the telescope. The day crew put down pads to control blowing snow from under the west door. Ventilation was not started because of imminent precip. Cartridge 15 was left on the telescope. Night: ----- Delay with the openings because of clouds, wind ~38 mph, humidity ~72% with diff ~4 C, and dust ~14K. 03:00Z - Started monthly MARVELS calibration sequence. ThAr lamp was turned on about 1.5 hours prior to starting the calibration sequence. 09:15Z - Started APOGEE morning calibration sequence. Backed up BOSS monthly checkout data and pointing model data to sdss-gateway. 11:12Z - Called it a night.
