We lost ~3 hours in the middle of the night due to dense clouds and smoke/ash in the air. We continued to commission APOGEE. We observed: Cart 1, plate 4812B, M53 for APOGEE science Cart 3, plate 4823A, NGC5466 for both MARVELS and APOGEE science, and RV standards test for APOGEE Cart 9, plate 4912A, 030-08, MARVELS science(x2) and APOGEE 150/150 test The #6 dewer was leaking air during the afternoon checkout, and hence its' pressure was down to 8psi when we attempted to fill the spectrographs. It is currently placed just outside of the dewer shed. Please check the mirror and clean it if necessary. Thanks. ---- Observing Log ---- Afternoon: ---------- Checked out telescope. All ok. 01:51Z - Started ventilating. Night: ------ 02:05Z - Opened enclosure to partly cloudy skies. Lots of dust/smoke in the basin. We cleaned the APOGEE connector with the airhose and took another dome flat. Much better signal. 02:10Z - The dewer that was placed on SP2 was leaking air, and hence its' pressure was at 8psi when we attempted to fill.
