We lost a few hours to clouds around the middle of the night. ---- Observing Log ---- Afternoon ========= No problems to report during afternoon checkout, although we note that the M2 Axial B number is off by 0.159 relative to nominal. 23:00Z - Started the home/relax mirror process for the pointing model later on. M2 Axial B still shows 0.159 departure from nominal. 00:05Z - Began ventilation. Night ===== 01:12Z - Opened to clear skies. Forced a fill from the 180L LN2 dewars. Howard started the DIMM up and verified that the new keyboard works properly. 01:22Z - MARVELS cal. sequence. Pointing Model -------------- 03:00Z - Mounted engineering camera, adjusted telescope balance, started engineering camera software. 03:15Z - Crossed fiducials, checked engineering camera binning, adjusted focus, checked rotation axis. Everything was adjusted accordingly and looks good. At the end of adjusting the focus, the seeing began to deteriorate and the DIMM agreed with this deterioration. We closed the FF petals and slewed to stow and monitored the weather. Soon after we closed, but remained ventilating. 06:55Z - The rain sensor went off due to some slight misting. We closed the doors the rest of the way on the enclosure and closed the cartridge bay fully as well. We also stopped the fans and closed the louvers. 09:30Z - The clouds cleared and we re-opened.
