Approx. from 11:00UT trac.sdss3.org "The server is temporarily unable to service your request due to maintenance downtime or capacity problems". High humidity and clouds up to 8:00Z. We observed the following cartridges in clear sky conditions: Cart 3, plate 5274 FiledID 15 Cart 8, plate 5521 FiledID 21 Cart 4, plate 5586 FiledID 10 ---- Observing Log ---- Afternoon: ---------- All systems and actors were checked. Hgcd and ne lamps were found could not be turned on. Dan Long and Wendell Jordan were called on this. With Their instructions, we checked fuse for the lamp power supple, it was confirmed good, (We replaced it with another, and it did not do anything better). I traced back the power cord, and found it is plugged into UPS circ #1 outlet, circuit #1 braker was checked on SE rack, and found good, and checked UPS on SE rack and verfied it is on with a load of 0. We plugged the power cord of the lamp power unit to a wall power outlet, lights on the unit came on immediately. So it seems that problem was between UPS circuit #1 braker and the power outlet for the unit. Because we still have high humidity, we did not think we can open first hour of tonight. If you do open in the 2nd half of night, it will be APOGEE/MARVELS time. APOGEE/MARVELS observations do not need these lamps. So we decided to leave this problem till day staff come in tomorrow. No other problem to report. APOGEE evening calibration was taken and checked. rain, high dust, high humidity. No even ventilation.
