The "latched" indicator is fine. We carefully removed the mounted cartridge and had no indication of a latch catching on anything, so we think the problem is in the indicator. Nevertheless, we were very careful with all cartridge swaps tonight. Partly cloudy at the evening, mostly clear all the night and coming heavy cloudy at 12AM. At first part of night Paul Harding worked with guider. John had new version of MCP. We did not have problems with it. We observed 8 MARVELS cartridges: 5#3706A, broken fibers 47/48, 49/50 5#3706B, broken fibers 23/24, 49/50 1#3713A, broken fibers 49/50, 63/64 6#3219A, broken fibers 49/50 9#3705A, broken fibers 49/50 7#3091A, broken fibers 33/34, 49/50 7#3091B, broken fibers 1/2 , 49/50, 61/62, 65/66 4#3892A, broken fibers 49/50, 57/58 We needed to apply large offsets to find guider stars for earch cartridge. SpiralPattern script helped us. We put information about offset and temperature in 'log' section. ---=== OBSERVING LOG ===--- Afternoon: --------- 23:05Z - Ventilation on. Doors closed. 23:15Z - ThAr lamp on 23:55Z - Doors opened. Jon had a new version of the MCP to try. We switched over to it, did a "hub startNubs mcp" and an iack, then tried turning on the ff and ne lamps from STUI. The STUI lamp status did not indicate the lamps were on. However, after we restarted the previous working version of the MCP, we saw that the lamp commands had indeed happened, and the lamps were on. So, the problem seems to be in STUI reading the MCP status, and the commands to the lamps were completed. Jon will continue to investigate. 01:07Z - Cartridge 5 mounted.
