I'd be surprised if that would do it.  The fiducial crossing latches the =
MCP (sloppy description), and it then reads the clinometer.  It isn't =
explicitly atomic (I think; I'd have to check the code to be sure) but I =
wouldn't expect network issues to cause a delay here.
THis is all based on vague memories of the code, and if the mcp locked =
up somewhere else then all bets are off
