Current MCP fiducials version is now v1_76. MSP calibration: QE u 2 taken. Pointing model was successfully obtained with 72 stars. A weird behavior of coefficients fitting procedure "tpoint" was discovered (see log for details). We are leaving the spectro dewar at 76 lbs, just filled the secondary dewars at 10:55Z in the morning. ---=== OBSERVING LOG ===--- Afternoon: ---------- Restarted the servers. New fiducial tables were built from the data taken on MJD 54637. The new altitude and rotator table errors were all-around larger than the errors in the current altitude and rotator tables, so the current tables were not replaced with the new ones. The new azimuth errors were comparable to the errors in the current azimuth table and the temperature at which the new azimuth fiducial data were taken was 15.5C compared to the current table (~8C), so the new azimuth fiducial table was installed. v1_76 is the new MCP fiducials version. Since the MCP was rebooted in accordance with the fiducial table procedures, Steph was contacted regarding the PID values and she kindly changed the MCP PID values to the current numbers. Thanks again, Steph. When I first tried `gcam doread' in a TCC session after setting up the guiderMac, it failed. I restarted the guiderMac setup procedures and tried again, but the `gcam doread' failed again. The PARALAN at the guiderMac did not show any errors and everything at the telescope looked fine as well, with the PARALAN at the engineering camera not showing any errors either. I rechecked the connections and then power-cycled the engineering camera. Upon setting up the guiderMac again, `gcam doread' produced images and worked normally again. When we specify to change all coefficients during the fitting telling just plain "use", the fitting routine varies only 6 coefficients. To make it vary really all coefficients, we issued a command "use ie ia pzz1 an aw ca tx hwca2 hwsa2 hnca1 hnsa1 acec aces", see above. We browsed pointing sheets from last months and found that this problem started during the pointing run on April 21, 2008. March 23, 2008 run and runs before didn't show such a problem. -- Closer to the morning, we observed 20-points model as well after checking in the successful 72-pt model.
