Hi Steph,
    From the murmur log it appears that the reason the first slew was
to the previous plate, was that no loadCartridge was issued for the
new plate on the first gotoField attempt.  Below is an excerpt from
the murmur log grepping for gotoField and loadCartridge over the
relevant time.

    So it looks like if loadCartridge in SOPGUI was clicked, it was
never sent on from SOPGUI into sop.
