That is a possibility.  I usually reboot all of the 5500s that are
connected to disks that are power cycled (after the power cycle, of
course).  As such, power cycling a disk enclosure should probably be
done only after considering the consequences.
As for why the photo1 crate fixed the problem...  Maybe it was the 712
transition module on the back of the crate that was confused.  I'll look
into that when I next see the problem at the teststand.
