     The guider problems are almost certainly due to miswiring: I had
mistakenly connected hoggpt to sdsshost's diagnostic repeater. Since
folks tend to watch the network-blasting IRSC movie loops, sdsshost's
network connection would have been overwhelmed.
    As for landru, I don't know anything useful.
