Just as a note: the TCC's  status commands (e.g. mirror
status, axis status) always query the controller and return that
information; they never archive anything.
Perhaps the aux port connection from the Galil to the TPM is broken.
(It is also that the aux data output has been disabled. I can't
imagine why anyone would have done that, however.)
