With Steph's help we solved connection problems with DIMM, but we did not get on the sky. LN2 dewars were replaced during the night. ---=== OBSERVING LOG ===--- Swing shift =========== Chip 65 in astrometrics dewar 1 has a distinct darkened bar on the left side (as seen in the monitors) when viewd in 2x2 binning. Is this normal? Probably I have just not noticed before. Spectrograph focus was checked - see end of log for details. im> caget tpm_TM_PMSSAvg tpm_TM_TelairAvg.VALA tpm_TM_PMSSAvg 5.48071 tpm_TM_TelairAvg.VALA 6.75 Around 01:20Z, we hit some sort of limit on sdsshost whereby we were unable to start new IOP sessions. Craig investigated it (we are closed by humidity and clouds in any case), but nothing came out. Night ========= 04:15Z We note that neither imaging or spectro TMS are running When landruope froze on Pete and he had to reboot landrpe and killed iop session, they were both killed. Or,maybe when sdsshost got unhappy they were killed. The last TMS activity was 02:44Z. 10:48Z The VNC window on monx3 disappeared with the following message: ReadFromRFBServer: rdr::SystemException: read: Connection reset by peer (104) DIMM: We got the control software running on monx3 thanks to help from Steph, but the software could not connect to the CCD. We then solved a problem with connections between monx3 and the camera by powering on SBIG (silly us). Everything appears to be running smoothly now. LN2: We swapped nitrogen dewars on the spectrograph as was necessary tonight -- shouldn't this be done by the day crew? Since the weather did not improve, we ran endNight on the cloudy tapes. ---=== IMAGING RUN SUMMARY ===--- Run Time Stripe Lambda Last Flavor Comments Start End Begin End Frame ------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---=== IMAGING RUN DETAILS ===--- ---=== SKIPPY RESULTS ===--- Run Frame nFrames stars muErr muRms nuErr nuRms rot az el --------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---=== LTMATCH RESULTS ===--- Run Field nFields alt az nGood rowMean rowSig colMean colSig rot ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ---=== SPECTROSCOPY DATA SUMMARY ===--- Summary Checked (y/n): y QA Procedures Done (y/n): n UT Exp Time flavor comment (S/N)^2 totals ========================================== b1 r1 b2 r2 ----- sequence 25544, plate -9999 ------- 23:26 25544 0.0 bias ----- sequence 25547, plate 1374 ------- 00:31 25547 2.1 arc 00:34 25548 2.1 arc 00:48 25549 2.1 arc 00:51 25550 2.1 arc 01:21 25551 2.1 arc 01:23 25552 2.1 arc ---=== TELESCOPE OFFSETS AND SCALE I ===--- Time Instrument Az Alt Rot Scale pos offset pos offset pos offset ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ---=== TELESCOPE OFFSETS AND SCALE II ===--- ---=== DATA TAPE SUMMARY ===--- Goes: JL Stays: JL ---=== FOCUS LOG ===--- setmir piston Temp Wind Time Inst scale M1 M2 Foc Az Alt (C) MPH Dir filt fwhm ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ---=== WEATHER LOG ===--- Wind Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust DIMM Sky 23:00Z 33 31 15 92 (E) -9999 - Overcast 23:33Z 33 31 16 81 (E) -9999 - Overcast 00:28Z 32 31 17 108 (ESE) -9999 - Overcast 01:00Z 32 31 9 93 (E) -9999 - Overcast 01:30Z 34 31 11 100 (E) -9999 - Overcast 02:59Z 33 33 15 113 (ESE) -9999 - Overcast 03:31Z 33 33 23 123 (ESE) -9999 - Overcast 04:04Z 33 33 17 108 (ESE) -9999 - Overcast 04:36Z 33 33 19 120 (ESE) -9999 - Overcast 05:08Z 33 33 15 125 (SE) -9999 - Overcast 05:40Z 33 32 15 125 (SE) -9999 - Overcast 06:12Z 32 32 18 133 (SE) -9999 - Overcast 06:44Z 32 31 14 105 (ESE) -9999 - Overcast 07:17Z 32 31 15 116 (ESE) -9999 - Overcast 07:49Z 32 32 23 126 (SE) -9999 - Overcast 08:21Z 33 32 17 123 (ESE) -9999 - Overcast 08:53Z 33 33 13 140 (SE) -9999 - Overcast 09:25Z 33 33 19 153 (SSE) -9999 - Overcast 09:58Z 32 32 18 141 (SE) -9999 - Overcast 10:30Z 32 32 17 151 (SSE) -9999 - Overcast 11:03Z 32 32 16 151 (SSE) -9999 - Overcast ---=== TELESCOPE STATUS ===--- Did not open.
