Was your ssh setup properly, so you can log in to mapper, sos, and
hoggpt without any password prompts? Please check that you can do this.
If yoiu cannot, then the behavior above is exactly what I intended. If
IOP cannot get past the security on these machines to get the version
number, it cannot report it, and should not try. (See the shake request
for PR 3825.)
