Most of the night was spent pumping and recooling the spectrographs. ---=== OBSERVING LOG ===--- Most of the night was spent pumping down the spectrographs due to their accidental warming up earlier in the day. The cause of the warmup was operator error as I (Scot) opened the wrong valve on the dewar (and in this case, the wrong wrong valve since the right wrong valve would have made itslef known that it should not be open) after connecting the fill lines and before forcing the fill (whose sound I took to be confirmation of everything working, but was just the venting of the dewars while they tried to fill from the empty fill hoses.) The watcher showed the warmup, but did not throw any critical errors and no email alerts went out. I filed a PR against IOP (Critical high) as this is now the second successive time we've had such a warmup without the backup systems coming into play to save the day. Clouds persisted throughout the night, so we would not have been on the sky much anyway. Even so, we lost approx. 1 hour of science time to the problem. There was an extra delay when a faulty valve was found during the spectrograph pumpdown. Jon & French replaced it. An hour before twilight, the clouds thinned enough for us to finally go on the sky. Cartridge 1, plate 796: All 11 stars were in the guide fibers on going to the field. Of course, the clouds started to get thicker right away. Two thirty minute exposures gave us some useful S/N, though. endNight -doSpectro -doTpm rejoiced. ---=== IMAGING RUN SUMMARY ===--- Run Time Stripe Lambda Last Flavor Comments Start End Begin End Frame ------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3172 02:10Z 02:24Z 100 O -35.52 -31.89 38 ignore ---=== IMAGING RUN DETAILS ===--- ---=== SKIPPY RESULTS ===--- Run Frame nFrames stars muErr muRms nuErr nuRms rot az el --------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---=== LTMATCH RESULTS ===--- Run Field nFields nGood rowMean rowSig colMean colSig rot --------------------------------------------------------------- ---=== SPECTROSCOPY DATA SUMMARY ===--- UT Exp Time flavor comment (S/N)^2 totals ========================================== b1 r1 b2 r2 ----- sequence 14836, plate -9999 ------- 01:35 14836 0.0 bias ----- sequence 14837, plate 796 ------- 06:30 14837 0.0 bias 06:32 14838 0.0 bias 06:35 14839 0.0 bias ----- sequence 14840, plate -9999 ------- 06:39 14840 0.0 bias ----- sequence 14841, plate 0 ------- 06:42 14841 0.0 bias 06:44 14842 0.0 bias 06:46 14843 0.0 bias 06:48 14844 0.0 bias 06:50 14845 0.0 bias 06:52 14846 0.0 bias 06:54 14847 0.0 bias 06:56 14848 0.0 bias 06:59 14849 0.0 bias 07:01 14850 0.0 bias 07:03 14851 0.0 bias 07:05 14852 0.0 bias 07:08 14853 0.0 bias 07:10 14854 0.0 bias 07:12 14855 0.0 bias 07:14 14856 0.0 bias 07:16 14857 0.0 bias 07:18 14858 0.0 bias 07:20 14859 0.0 bias 07:22 14860 0.0 bias 07:28 14861 0.0 bias 07:30 14862 0.0 bias 07:32 14863 0.0 bias 07:34 14864 0.0 bias 07:37 14865 0.0 bias 07:39 14866 0.0 bias 07:41 14867 0.0 bias 07:43 14868 0.0 bias 07:45 14869 0.0 bias 07:47 14870 0.0 bias 07:55 14871 0.0 bias 07:57 14872 0.0 bias 07:59 14873 0.0 bias 08:01 14874 0.0 bias 08:04 14875 0.0 bias 08:06 14876 0.0 bias 08:08 14877 0.0 bias 08:10 14878 0.0 bias 08:12 14879 0.0 bias 08:14 14880 0.0 bias 08:19 14881 0.0 bias 08:21 14882 0.0 bias 08:23 14883 0.0 bias 08:25 14884 0.0 bias 08:27 14885 0.0 bias 08:29 14886 0.0 bias 08:31 14887 0.0 bias 08:33 14888 0.0 bias 08:35 14889 0.0 bias 08:38 14890 0.0 bias 08:42 14891 0.0 bias 08:44 14892 0.0 bias 08:47 14893 0.0 bias 08:49 14894 0.0 bias 08:51 14895 0.0 bias 08:53 14896 0.0 bias 08:55 14897 0.0 bias 08:57 14898 0.0 bias 08:59 14899 0.0 bias 09:01 14900 0.0 bias ----- sequence 14900, plate 796 ------- 11.7 9.9 11.4 8.6 09:47 14901 10.0 flat 09:49 14902 2.0 arc 10:25 14903 1802.0 target 11:00 14904 1801.0 target 11:06 14905 240.0 smear ---=== TELESCOPE OFFSETS AND SCALE I ===--- Time Instrument Az Alt Rot Scale pos offset pos offset pos offset ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 09:56Z 1 796 222.41 -0.0003 61.25 0.0024 63.39 -0.0005 1.000200 ---=== TELESCOPE OFFSETS AND SCALE II ===--- ---=== DATA TAPE SUMMARY ===--- Goes: JL5300 Stays: JL5301 ---=== FOCUS LOG ===--- setmir piston Temp Wind Time Inst scale M1 M2 Foc Az Alt (C) MPH Dir filt fwhm ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 09:57Z 1 796 1.00020 -1974 -686 -200 222 61.2 11.5 11 204 - 1.6 ---=== WEATHER LOG ===--- Wind Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust DIMM Sky 00:30Z 58 13 16 215 (SW) 1369 - mcl 01:02Z 55 9 14 212 (SSW) 1473 - mcl 01:35Z 55 10 8 237 (WSW) 1726 - mcl 02:07Z 53 8 11 251 (WSW) 1851 - mcl 02:44Z 52 8 9 215 (SW) 1904 - mcl 03:16Z 52 8 6 227 (SW) 2250 - mcl 03:48Z 52 8 6 218 (SW) 2276 - mcl 04:20Z 52 8 9 181 (S) 2139 - mcl 04:52Z 52 7 9 225 (SW) 1878 - mcl 05:24Z 52 8 7 240 (WSW) 1502 - pcl 05:56Z 53 7 7 218 (SW) 1483 - pcl 06:29Z 53 7 8 223 (SW) 1436 - pcl 07:01Z 53 8 9 228 (SW) 1428 - mcl 07:33Z 53 8 9 222 (SW) 1461 - mcl 08:05Z 53 8 9 238 (WSW) 1356 - mcl 08:37Z 53 7 12 226 (SW) 1415 - mcl 09:10Z 53 7 9 231 (SW) 1500 - mcl 09:42Z 52 7 13 207 (SSW) 1622 - mcl 10:14Z 51 7 10 187 (S) 1576 - mcl 10:47Z 51 7 15 203 (SSW) 1662 - pcl 11:19Z 51 6 11 204 (SSW) 1598 - pcl ---=== TELESCOPE STATUS ===--- Blower & fans on, doors cracked at approx 04:00Z Opened at 10:30Z Closed at 11:30Z Telescope stowed at 30 degrees alt with cartridge 1 mounted and the spectro autofill connected (properly!).
