We closed early because of a sudden rise in humidity. ---=== OBSERVING LOG ===--- We opened at sunset. By the end of twilight we were ready to observe, but the seeing was hideous. That combined with light cloud cover kept our efficiency too low to work for about 1/2 hour. We fought for signal on cartridge 5, plate 968 for about three hours. After 150 minutes over 6 exposures, we declared this plate done. 06:57Z Cartridge 8, plate 926. Needed an fk5 to correct the pointing. Seeing remained horrible. We took exposures anyway. Seeing was highly variable, but generally bad. 09:00Z 3.5-m humidity reported 94% in a sudden climb. Humidity at 2.5-m level was reported at 75%. A sanity check of the moisture at the rails and 2.5-m enclosure wall indicated that it was probably safe to finish our current exposure, however 15 minutes later, the moisture at the walls & rail was significantly worse. We closed immediately, turned on the heaters and A/C and set up the space heaters. We were unable to declare plate 926 done after four exposures totaling 95 minutes, but did get good signal. ---=== IMAGING RUN SUMMARY ===--- Run Time Stripe Lambda Last Flavor Comments Start End Begin End Frame ------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---=== IMAGING RUN DETAILS ===--- ---=== SKIPPY RESULTS ===--- Run Frame nFrames stars muErr muRms nuErr nuRms rot az el --------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---=== LTMATCH RESULTS ===--- Run Field nFields nGood rowMean rowSig colMean colSig rot --------------------------------------------------------------- ---=== SPECTROSCOPY DATA SUMMARY ===--- UT Exp Time flavor comment (S/N)^2 totals ========================================== b1 r1 b2 r2 ----- sequence 15201, plate 968 ------- 16.0 17.0 15.6 14.3 DONE 03:39 15201 10.0 flat 03:41 15202 2.0 arc 04:05 15203 22064.0 target 04:34 15204 1501.0 target 05:02 15205 23838.0 target 05:30 15206 1500.0 target 05:57 15207 1500.0 target 06:30 15208 1802.0 target 06:37 15209 240.0 smear 06:39 15210 10.0 flat 06:42 15211 2.0 arc ----- sequence 15212, plate 926 ------- 13.6 14.6 12.3 13.2 07:24 15212 10.0 flat 07:26 15213 2.0 arc 07:50 15214 1203.0 target 08:18 15215 1503.0 target 08:45 15216 1500.0 target 09:13 15217 1501.0 target 09:21 15218 240.0 smear 09:23 15219 10.0 flat 09:25 15220 2.0 arc ---=== TELESCOPE OFFSETS AND SCALE I ===--- Time Instrument Az Alt Rot Scale pos offset pos offset pos offset ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 04:18Z 5 968 209.74 -0.0008 69.33 0.0001 40.27 -0.0304 1.000140 05:08Z 5 968 222.37 -0.0008 63.02 0.0001 61.44 -0.0304 1.000140 06:11Z 5 968 228.86 -0.0008 53.39 0.0001 79.11 -0.0304 1.000140 07:29Z 8 926 -12.30 0.0014 54.98 -0.0030 169.63 -0.0142 0.999890 ---=== TELESCOPE OFFSETS AND SCALE II ===--- ---=== DATA TAPE SUMMARY ===--- Goes: JL5348 Stays: JL5349 ---=== FOCUS LOG ===--- setmir piston Temp Wind Time Inst scale M1 M2 Foc Az Alt (C) MPH Dir filt fwhm ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 04:18Z 5 968 1.00014 -1381 -62 -50 210 69.3 7.3 24 68 - >3 05:08Z 5 968 1.00014 -1381 -49 -50 222 63.0 6.6 17 80 - 3.1 06:11Z 5 968 1.00014 -1381 26 0 229 53.4 5.6 15 76 - 3.7 07:29Z 8 926 0.99989 1085 1965 -100 -12 55.0 8.6 0 112 - 2.3 ---=== WEATHER LOG ===--- Wind Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust DIMM Sky 01:03Z 50 31 13 58 (ENE) 945 - pcl 01:35Z 49 31 12 58 (ENE) 921 - pcl 02:07Z 48 31 13 83 (E) 883 - pcl 02:40Z 47 31 19 74 (ENE) 889 - pcl 03:12Z 47 31 19 72 (ENE) 980 - pcl 03:44Z 46 31 23 74 (ENE) 1163 - pcl 04:14Z 45 31 22 76 (ENE) 1369 - pcl 04:46Z 44 30 18 76 (ENE) 1820 - pcl 05:16Z 43 31 18 73 (ENE) 2056 - pcl 05:46Z 42 31 19 72 (ENE) 1859 - pcl 06:17Z 42 31 18 75 (ENE) 2064 - pcl 06:47Z 41 31 15 71 (ENE) 2183 - pcl 07:17Z 46 31 5 82 (E) 2303 - clear 07:49Z 45 31 6 79 (E) 2042 - clear 08:20Z 46 31 3 85 (E) 1812 - clear 08:50Z 42 31 14 76 (ENE) 1244 - clear 09:21Z 39 37 15 75 (ENE) 1325 - clear 09:51Z 38 37 15 72 (ENE) 1446 - clear 10:22Z 38 36 13 79 (E) 1303 - clear 10:55Z 39 34 9 81 (E) 1240 - clear 11:26Z 40 35 7 97 (E) 1034 - clear ---=== TELESCOPE STATUS ===--- 01:00Z Blowers & cone fans on, doors cracked open 01:55Z Opened enclosure 09:25Z Closed enclosure, blowers & cone fans off.
