So we could not get the pointing model. o Mirrors were homed and relaxed. The nominal MIGS values seems to have changed from last dark run -- probably due to the engineering done during the bright time. o tccMon is not working --- Steve is trying to fix it. o We have tried the commands David has asked us (apofix, apoheader, logsheet, atv) to and feed back is in the log. apoplot, atvrawspec, collimate, apo_plotbias were tried during last shakedown and worked well. o The plate inventory www page does not show the version number yet -- Steve is working on it. o All TPM PRs were tested, but not all were closed. Please see the log for more detail. o sdssProcedure changes were checked and all looked fine. o biasGen and biasCheck ran and all seems to be well. ---=== OBSERVING LOG ===--- Mirror homing ================= Dan homed and relaxed the mirrors. Dan noted that the mirror numbers are different from last dark run --- probably due to the engineering done during this bright time. Once we checked collimation, we will know if we need to do snm4l. tccMon failure ================ At the beginning of the night, Pete found out that tccMon no longer worked. He contacted Steve who worked on the problem (PR3640 reports this problem). See the problem section for the error messages associated with this problem. Steve could not fix this PR tonight. He will work on it again tomorrow. Plate Database ================ PR 3563 Move tile number --closed PR 3531 Need URL to return list of all plates. -- closed PR 3332 Need Version Number --back to Steve PR 3207 Show avoidance zone under "Plan a day" --closed PR 2928 Convert all times to UT -- closed TPM ===== TPM PR 3621 (Humidity sensor) ----------------------------- The TPM display was showing wild fluctuations in the humidity displayed. When the APO tower readings were 15-20%, the TPM display varied between 7% and 118%. Peregrine was called. He found the error and is fixing it, cutting TPM v2_7_0. PR 3335: Make local copy of ChannelArchiver documentation. ----------------------------------------------------------- Yes, the documentation is there. However, the documentation should not be in Peregrine's directory. So we have added a request to the PR to have it served on sdsshost and installed like the other software documentations. Scot and Peregrine discussed this PR and now it is assigned to Scot. Scot needs to make the required link now and/or work with Peregrine to make things compliant with our standard PR 3443: abdump should be able to dump n consecutive bits. ------------------------------------------------------------ The command failed with the message complaining about file permission in Peregrine's directory. We changed the PR back to assigned. We do not want to have any command rely on file permission in Peregrine's directory. Please change it so that this command installed like other software commands. The error message as follows: Error in startup script: couldn't read file "/usrdevel/peregrin/epics/extensions /src/ChannelArchiver/casi/tcl/casiTools.tcl": permission denied while executing "source /usrdevel/peregrin/epics/extensions/src/ChannelArchiver/casi/tcl/casiToo ls.tcl" (file "/p/tpmbase/bin/iris/tpmgetnew.tcl" line 2) invoked from within "source /p/tpmbase/bin/iris/tpmgetnew.tcl" (file "/p/tpmbase/bin/iris/tpmABData.tcl" line 6) invoked from within "source /p/tpmbase/bin/iris/tpmABData.tcl" (file "/p/tpmbase/bin/iris/abdump" line 2) INFORMATIONAL: Product 'tpm' (with qualifiers ''), has no v2_7_0 version (or may not exist) /p/tpmbase/bin/iris/abdump PR 3585: TPM computation of MJD off by 1 hour during MDT. --------------------------------------------------------- TPM has correct time/date. PR closed. TPM imager dewar weight in yellow ----------------------------------- This is a new feature we were not aware of. The imager dewar weight turned to yellow. We were not aware exactly when it turned to yellow --- it was certainly black around 100 lb and when it was in yellow at 69.1 lb. The color must have changed during a fill. One problem: it is VERY hard to read the yellow numbers against the white background. If we are to use yellow to warn us that the dewar weight is getting low, we might want to consider different shade of yellow, or change the background white to some other color so that the contrast is better. We filed a change request so that we can see the numbers better. Murmur message =============== Strange Murmur messages from sdssmcp -- please see problem section. SoS ===== Exposure time and temperature column now added to the SoS page. Tonight, the temperature is not displayed -- we got ***** instead. We filed a PR on this. According to Dan who did the spectro monthly checkout yesterday, the temperature recorded yesterday is the one we see in "displayweath" on Galileo, not the TPM recorded ambient temperature. Since the focusing of the spectrographs are done in the enclosure, it will be better to have the ambient TPM recorded temperature instead of the air temperature from the MET tower displayed in SoS so that we can easily compare the temperatures at the time the focus was done or checked and at the time of the exposures taken. David, will it be hard to change? During the last shake down, atvrawspec, apo_plotbias, remoe2redo, apoplot collimate, were used by observers and we were happy. We tried apoheader. I thought this command was to give us what was entered in the header. But I saw for the several different exposure files no entry in any of the info this command displayed. Here is an example of what I got: IDL> apoheader, 14728 sdR-b1-00014728. sdR-r1-00014728. sdR-b2-00014728. sdR-r2-00014728. ---------------- ---------------- ---------------- ---------------- EXPOSURE CAMERAS FLAVOR MJD PLATEID NAME EXPTIME (END-BEG TAI-BEG TAI-END TAI FFS NE HGCD OBSCOMM TILEID RA DEC RADEG DECDEG AIRTEMP IDL> This exposure above is suppose to be a flat exposure taken yesterday. Since we didn't get the temperature in SoS for biases taken tonight, we used apofix to add the temperature info and then do a sos_redo so that when the reduction is redone, SoS will have the temperature info displayed. And it did. After using apofix, I didn't know what to use to see the changes I made was recorded. Luckily, the next command I tried was logsheet which listed the changes I have made. The output of logsheet says that the airtemp was changed from -9999 to 10 which is exactly what I did using apofix. David, can you add in the description of apofix to use logsheet in if one wants to check the changes she/he made? I specified an output file (or I thought I did) when using logsheet command, but I am confused about where the outfile went. It is not in the directory I ran the command in. The logsheet output looked like the following: IDL> logsheet, outfile=bob % Compiled module: LOGSHEET. Cloudcamera ran out of diskspace to store data =============================================== Around 08:45Z, cloudcamera ran out of disk space to write images and complained by beeping. It turns out that Atsuko was downloading her HST data which filled up the diskspace. Unfortunately, the cloudcamera does not recover very gracefully from diskfull situation and after Atsuko got rid of the HST data, the cloudcamera complained after every scan. Since it was obviously cloudy, we turned off the cloudcamera for the night. sdssProcedure changes =========================== Changes to sdssProcedures listed in the change log for v1_44 all seem present and understandable. These include minor changes to the imager instrument change procedure and documentation of SoS commands ATVRAWSPEC, APOHEADER and APOFIX.
