Spectroscopy (cirrus clouds) then imaging? ---=== OBSERVING SUMMARY ===--- No major problems, the only problem we had tonight was with smear (it took about 10 minutes to complete a smear -previously it was only 6). PR was filed, Eric fixed the problem on fly. Plates: 6 done (could be more, but there were clouds at the first half of the night): cart 1 plt 856 done 2 785 done 3 888 done 4 609 done 5 872 done 6 578 done ---=== OBSERVING LOG ===--- Afternoon checkout ok. Spectroscopy - clouds at sun set: 0147Z Cart 3 plt 888: stars found via fk5. Guider: We thought it wasn't guiding for a while, but we checked that it did, however without telling us about it - these appeared to be changes in the guider and now the information about offsets applied can be found only in the murmur. Also we need better documentation for the guiderDataWindow (at least a helpstring would be nice, since we couldn't find the command with "help *guider*"). After pressing the offset button in logTool, we've got imager under instrument collumn insteed of the cart#. It didn't happen again since then. We finished smear and postcalib, and found that the s/n for the last exposure is too low. So we went for another exposure hoping that we can get some photons through clouds. Finaly 7-th exposure gived us required s/n and we declared plate as done. Smear took again much longer than it suppose to (10 min), so we filed a critical high PR against SOP/smear and asked Eric for help. He fixed the smear problem and we were able to test it on the next smear. See PR 3371 for more details. 0529Z Cart 5 plt 872: stars in fibers from slew. Postcalib was required. Smear took 6.5 minutes now, so it's back to normal after Eric's fixes. SoS aborted ccd b1 reduction, but we got very high s/n in the rest of ccds, so we declared that plate done and went for another cartridge. Then we run SoS on 872 plate again. This time ccd b1 was reduced properly and confirmed our prediction about good s/n on b1. 0656Z Cart 6 plt 578 mounted. fk5 required to find stars. First exposure lost due to clouds, plate done with additional 3 exposures. 0840Z Cart 2 plt 785 mounted. Stars found with a small guessed offsets. Done with 3 exposures. 0959Z Cart 1 plt 856 mounted. Stars found again with small offests. Done with 3 exposures. 1113Z Cart 4 plt 609, fk5 star was necessary to find the guide stars. Done with 3 exposures.
