Couldn't shake too many items, but in spite of this, we should be able to start science tomorrow night. ---=== OBSERVING LOG ===--- Swing shift: Swing-shift shakedown activities were completed last night, so a standard check of the DA, 2.5-m and PT were all that had to be done. Everything went smoothly except for DA checkout. id 3-1 went into an error state and unmounted itself during a bias. We followed the procedure 'Re-enabling a single failed drive following auto-recovery' in the troubleshooting section on the observers' home page, with the exception that we did not load a new tape, but instead used the same tape. The procedure worked, with the exception that we had to add an archMount command before the archResume. Night shift: Dust and wind were high all night, preventing us from opening. Snow flurries started at 0428Z and ended by about 0600Z. The new SoS (v4_9_5) was exercised on last night's data, and seems to work well. PR 2864 was closed after we got some feedback from Steve about the Moon brightness values. PR 2230 was closed (declareSpectroExposureBad). SoS did not reduce a test exposure that was changed to 'bad'. The command works as advertised. PR 3235 was closed. abdump's help string works and handles bad arguments. We saw a lot of windscreen touched in altitude messages while the telescope was safely stowed with stop buttons in. See the problems section for the murmur entries. We decided to wait until tomorrow to declare the current software versions. We still have IOP tests to run, so don't want to declare v3_71_0 current yet. As with last night, we were conservative about the dust limits, assuming the true values were higher than the tower readings. When the 3.5-m opened, our assumption was shown to be correct. Note that the back-up counter has been sent out for calibration, so it was unavailable. endNight doTpm finished normally. ---=== IMAGING RUN SUMMARY ===--- Run Time Stripe Lambda Last Flavor Comments Start End Begin End Frame ------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3004 2247Z 0040Z 100 O -149.47 -121.20 203 ignore ---=== IMAGING RUN DETAILS ===--- ---=== SKIPPY RESULTS ===--- Run Frame nFrames stars muErr muRms nuErr nuRms rot --------------------------------------------------------------- ---=== LTMATCH RESULTS ===--- Run Field nFields nGood rowMean rowSig colMean colSig rot --------------------------------------------------------------- ---=== SPECTROSCOPY DATA SUMMARY ===--- UT Exp Time flavor comment (S/N)^2 totals ========================================== b1 r1 b2 r2 ---=== TELESCOPE OFFSETS AND SCALE I ===--- Time Instrument Az Alt Rot Scale pos offset pos offset pos offset ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ---=== TELESCOPE OFFSETS AND SCALE II ===--- ---=== DATA TAPE SUMMARY ===--- No tapes shipped ---=== FOCUS LOG ===--- setmir piston Temp Wind Time Inst scale M1 M2 Foc Az Alt (C) MPH Dir filt fwhm ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ---=== WEATHER LOG ===--- Wind Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust DIMM Sky 16:57 39 6 22 273 (W) 2454 - mcl 17:29 39 5 24 274 (W) 2053 - mcl 18:03 35 5 26 269 (W) 9267 - mcl 18:35 34 6 25 264 (W) 24636 - mcl 19:07 34 7 24 272 (W) 20871 - mcl 19:40 33 8 25 263 (W) 5544 - cloudy 20:12 32 10 30 258 (WSW) 3373 - cloudy 20:44 31 11 21 267 (W) 5742 - cloudy 21:16 30 11 25 264 (W) 2746 - cloudy 21:49 29 12 27 270 (W) 1460 - flurries 22:21 25 10 23 319 (NW) 1230 - flurries 22:53 26 18 27 256 (WSW) 1589 - mcl 23:25 26 15 17 268 (W) 1277 - mcl 23:58 25 12 17 269 (W) 1332 - mcl 00:30 24 10 24 290 (WNW) 1398 - mcl 01:02 23 9 24 270 (W) 1729 - mcl 01:34 22 7 29 271 (W) 1672 - mcl 02:07 21 7 19 287 (WNW) 1851 - pcl 02:39 21 4 21 273 (W) 1800 - pcl 03:11 19 4 15 261 (W) 1515 - pcl 03:51 18 4 17 266 (W) 1348 - pcl 04:23 16 6 10 257 (WSW) 1182 - pcl 04:56 16 5 8 300 (WNW) 1261 - pcl ---=== TELESCOPE STATUS ===--- Never opened.
