Gave up and closed at 1041Z (03:40 MST). ---=== OBSERVING LOG ===--- Increasing high cloud from mid-afternoon, producing impressive sun dogs before sunset but no science photons after. We found and fixed a slow leak in the spectro cooling loop (see Problems section for write-up). The sp1 slit-head position sensor reported an indeterminate position although the slitheads latch ok. French will adjust the sensor tomorrow. We mounted two spectro cartridges but acquired no useful data, barely getting enough photons to focus. On the first preCalibs of the night, we hit the "subregion out of bounds" error again on the preCalibs despite using startMon -simple, so Dan's diagnosis from MJD 52316 is probably correct. PR1601 re-suspended, and PR3219 opened. ---=== IMAGING RUN SUMMARY ===--- Run Time Stripe Lambda Last Flavor Comments Start End Begin End Frame ------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2993 2218Z 2348Z 100 O -169.50 -146.81 60 ignore ---=== IMAGING RUN DETAILS ===--- ---=== SKIPPY RESULTS ===--- Run Frame nFrames stars muErr muRms nuErr nuRms rot --------------------------------------------------------------- ---=== LTMATCH RESULTS ===--- Run Field nFields nGood rowMean rowSig colMean colSig rot --------------------------------------------------------------- ---=== SPECTROSCOPY DATA SUMMARY ===--- UT Exp Time flavor comment (S/N)^2 totals ========================================== b1 r1 b2 r2 ----- sequence 13322, plate -9999 ------- 22:19 13322 0.0 bias 22:28 13323 0.0 bias 22:31 13324 0.0 bias 23:20 13325 0.0 bias ----- sequence 13326, plate 810 ------- 01:59 13326 10.0 flat 02:01 13327 2.0 arc 02:37 13328 1800.0 target USELESS 03:10 13329 1800.0 target USELESS ----- sequence 13330, plate 865 ------- 04:10 13330 10.0 flat 04:12 13331 2.0 arc 04:47 13332 1800.0 target USELESS 05:22 13333 1800.0 target UESLESS ---=== TELESCOPE OFFSETS AND SCALE I ===--- Time Instrument Az Alt Rot Scale pos offset pos offset pos offset ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 0205Z 1 810 -32.35 -0.0013 52.74 0.0024 153.25 0.0001 1.000000 ---=== TELESCOPE OFFSETS AND SCALE II ===--- ---=== DATA TAPE SUMMARY ===--- No tapes shipped or saved. ---=== FOCUS LOG ===--- setmir piston Temp Wind Time Inst scale M1 M2 Foc Az Alt (C) MPH Dir filt fwhm ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:23 1 810 0.99999 99 1324 -15 121 30.0 4.2 0 83 19:05 1 810 1.00000 0 1097 -75 -32 52.7 3.7 5 339 ---=== WEATHER LOG ===--- Wind Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust DIMM Sky 15:21 40 17 5 282 (WNW) 401 - Cloud 15:54 40 17 6 294 (WNW) 382 - " 16:25 39 16 3 5 (N) 404 - " 16:57 39 15 3 269 (W) 272 - " 17:29 37 16 0 355 (NNW) 393 - " 18:02 36 13 7 23 (NNE) 202 - " 18:34 38 8 7 340 (NNW) 93 - " 19:05 38 7 4 339 (NNW) 106 - " 19:36 38 4 2 354 (NNW) 120 - " 20:08 39 5 2 347 (NNW) 116 - " 20:40 38 10 1 143 (SE) 102 - " 21:12 37 10 6 181 (S) 69 - " 21:45 37 10 6 180 (S) 88 - " 22:17 36 9 3 187 (S) 91 - " 22:49 37 10 7 169 (S) 92 - " 23:22 37 8 10 177 (S) 114 - " 23:55 38 7 6 183 (S) 201 - " 00:26 38 13 10 188 (S) 328 - " 00:58 40 8 10 181 (S) 158 - " 01:31 38 7 8 180 (S) 103 - " 02:03 37 6 10 150 (SSE) 139 - " 02:35 37 7 11 187 (S) 97 - " 03:07 37 10 13 188 (S) 148 - " 03:39 38 8 6 165 (SSE) 186 - " ---=== TELESCOPE STATUS ===--- Time 2245Z Fans on, doors opened. 0050Z Enclosure off 1050Z Enclosure on, shut down. I traced this to a weeping brass connector on the plumbing just above the sp1 PSUs (the top-most connector) dripping onto the south fork. I tightened the connector about a quarter turn to the same torque as other connections, which stopped the leak. The leak was external to the equipment. No other leaks evident. French says this was not part of the system dismantled during the recent spectro heat-exchanger upgrade.
