We never opened. ---=== OBSERVING LOG ===--- Pete spent the afternoon trying to track down the source of our PT camera communication failures. See the PT night log for details. Afternoon checkout went without problems. At sunset we had clouds, lightning and rain to the west moving our way, and a shrinking dewpoint depression. We cracked the doors and turned on the blowers but did not open. We kept an eye on the dewpoint depression and, eventually the rain got so close that we had to close back up. Later, ever optimistic, we opened the doors again and turned the blower back on. Clouds remained thick, then the dewpoint depression dropped to the closure limit. Back down went the enclosure doors, and off went the blower again. At the end of the night, the humidity began to drop again, just as storms with lightning developed to the west of us again. Odd weather...cold, but with lightning near. We never opened. endNight -doTpm finished without problems. While the cloud camera was open, we tried a "quickie experiment" for Kurt A. We put aluminum tape on the top third of the inside of the south (bottom) tripod leg to see what it did to the contrast between tripod leg and sky. On the raw images, you can see that it reduces the contrast somewhat. We may want to make all the tripod legs IR reflective so they reflect the sky. If you want to have a look, some raw images are stored on sdsscommish in /data/usrdevel/snedden/kurt_tapetest. ---=== IMAGING RUN SUMMARY ===--- Run Time Stripe Lambda Last Flavor Comments Start End Begin End Frame ------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---=== IMAGING RUN DETAILS ===--- ---=== SKIPPY RESULTS ===--- Run Frame nFrames stars muErr muRms nuErr nuRms rot az el --------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---=== LTMATCH RESULTS ===--- Run Field nFields alt az nGood rowMean rowSig colMean colSig rot ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ---=== SPECTROSCOPY DATA SUMMARY ===--- UT Exp Time flavor comment (S/N)^2 totals ========================================== b1 r1 b2 r2 00:16 16600 0.0 bias ---=== TELESCOPE OFFSETS AND SCALE I ===--- Time Instrument Az Alt Rot Scale pos offset pos offset pos offset ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ---=== TELESCOPE OFFSETS AND SCALE II ===--- ---=== DATA TAPE SUMMARY ===--- Goes: JL Stays: JL ---=== FOCUS LOG ===--- setmir piston Temp Wind Time Inst scale M1 M2 Foc Az Alt (C) MPH Dir filt fwhm ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ---=== WEATHER LOG ===--- Wind Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust DIMM Sky 00:03Z 47 33 8 229 (SW) 268 - cloudy 00:34Z 45 33 4 182 (S) 334 - "" 01:06Z 44 34 5 84 (E) 311 - "" 01:39Z 45 34 2 266 (W) 355 - "" 02:11Z 45 34 7 210 (SSW) 291 - "" 02:43Z 45 35 8 226 (SW) 251 - "" 03:15Z 46 37 8 231 (SW) 286 - "" 03:47Z 45 38 8 228 (SW) 274 - "" 04:19Z 45 38 7 213 (SSW) 233 - "" 04:52Z 46 33 1 314 (NW) 254 - "" 05:24Z 46 31 9 286 (WNW) 195 - "" 05:56Z 46 31 6 303 (WNW) 207 - "" 06:28Z 45 30 12 310 (NW) 205 - "" 07:00Z 47 30 10 300 (WNW) 292 - "" 07:33Z 47 30 3 226 (SW) 252 - "" 08:05Z 43 35 7 199 (SSW) 214 - "" 08:37Z 42 37 10 182 (S) 246 - "" 09:09Z 41 37 11 194 (SSW) 365 - "" 09:42Z 40 37 2 154 (SSE) 344 - "" 10:14Z 42 36 3 180 (S) 398 - "" 10:46Z 41 35 5 181 (S) 395 - "" 11:17Z 44 35 4 259 (W) 461 - "" ---=== TELESCOPE STATUS ===--- 00:40Z Turned on blower and partially opened enclosure doors. 02:47Z Turned off blower, closed doors. 05:30Z Turned on blower, opened doors again. 09:03Z Turned off blower, closed doors...again.
