We did find several temperature sensors not reading correctly, and found the exhaust fan wouldn't work. ---=== OBSERVING LOG ===--- We never opened tonight. For the first part of the night humidity along with blowing snow kept us closed. Later just the flakes drifting off the "crinkly" trees and the enclosure were the problem. It started out very cold tonight ( -10 C ). When the humidity dropped enough, we cracked the enclosure doors and started up the fans ( more on the fans below ). The telescope started cooling down, but the ambient air temperature began rising. They met at around -3 C. The M2 actuator A was tested successfully at this temperature, but we had hoped to test it at much colder temps. The telescope temperatures not reading properly ( PR 3129 ). The majority of sensors were reading between about 0 and -3 C. However, in modules 1 and 2, blocks 4 and 5 are reading something slightly higher than boiling ( 112 C ). There are some which also read -130 C which is different than the -293 that the unused ones register. Below is a list of all values which appear suspect. module block channel value 0 5 6 -143 0 5 7 -143 1 0 4 -119 1 0 5 -119 1 0 6 101 1 0 7 -119 1 1 6 112 1 2 6 113 1 3 6 113 1 4 6 103 1 5 6 103 1 6 6 101 1 7 6 102 2 0 4 114 2 0 5 113 2 1 4 109 2 1 6 -138 2 1 7 -138 2 2 4 113 2 2 5 114 2 3 4 114 2 3 5 113 2 4 4 114 2 4 5 113 Exhaust fan doesn't start ( PR 3130 ). If HVAC system is set to AUTO, there is no alarm. However if the HVAC system is set to OFF, an alarm condition sounds. It is complaining of a fan failure. French found that the actuator control box for one of the dampers which redirects air flow between HVAC and exhaust mode was substantially filled with ice. ---=== IMAGING RUN SUMMARY ===--- Run Time Stripe Lambda Last Flavor Comments Start End Begin End Frame ------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2942 2333Z 2344Z 100 O -166.47 -163.74 32 ignore ---=== IMAGING RUN DETAILS ===--- ---=== SKIPPY RESULTS ===--- Run Frame nFrames stars muErr muRms nuErr nuRms rot --------------------------------------------------------------- ---=== LTMATCH RESULTS ===--- Run Field nFields nGood rowMean rowSig colMean colSig rot --------------------------------------------------------------- ---=== SPECTROSCOPY DATA SUMMARY ===--- UT Exp Time flavor comment (S/N)^2 totals ========================================== b1 r1 b2 r2 ----- sequence 12953, plate -9999 ------- 23:20 12953 0.0 bias 23:31 12954 0.0 bias ---=== TELESCOPE OFFSETS AND SCALE I ===--- Time Instrument Az Alt Rot Scale pos offset pos offset pos offset ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ---=== TELESCOPE OFFSETS AND SCALE II ===--- ---=== DATA TAPE SUMMARY ===--- Goes: none Stays: none ---=== FOCUS LOG ===--- setmir piston Temp Wind Time Inst scale M1 M2 Foc Az Alt (C) MPH Dir filt fwhm ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ---=== WEATHER LOG ===--- Wind Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust DIMM Sky 22:51 16 11 6 333 (NNW) 43 - Clear 23:23 16 10 6 346 (NNW) 45 - Clear 23:55 15 10 9 321 (NW) 42 - Clear 00:27 13 7 2 270 (W) 81 - Clear 00:59 13 5 10 0 (N) 53 - Clear 01:32 12 5 12 29 (NNE) 137 - Clear 02:04 12 5 12 38 (NE) 79 - Clear 02:36 12 5 12 41 (NE) 101 - Clear 03:08 12 5 13 29 (NNE) 119 - Clear 03:40 12 5 20 43 (NE) 83 - Clear 04:13 20 -3 6 34 (NE) 13 - Clear 04:45 17 -5 6 223 (SW) 26 - Clear 05:21 21 -11 5 19 (NNE) 27 - Clear 05:53 26 -23 4 343 (NNW) 8 - Clear 06:30 23 -30 1 352 (NNW) 10 - Clear 07:02 26 -29 2 289 (WNW) 25 - Clear 07:34 26 -32 1 272 (W) 13 - Clear 08:11 27 -33 1 260 (W) 11 - Clear 08:43 26 -28 2 236 (SW) 19 - Clear 09:15 26 -23 0 215 (SW) 7 - Clear 09:47 25 -19 3 224 (SW) 8 - Clear 10:19 25 -20 7 221 (SW) 9 - Clear 10:52 24 -16 7 211 (SSW) 11 - Clear 11:24 24 -17 6 200 (SSW) 11 - Clear 05:00 25 -12 9 234 (SW) 11 - Clear ---=== TELESCOPE STATUS ===--- 03:50 Enclosure doors cracked, Cone fans on. 11:20 Enclosure closed, fans off Stowed at 30 deg alt, engcam installed.
