Take simulated sky data with imager if we can't. === OBSERVING SUMMARY === Took simulated sky data with imager ( never opened ). === OBSERVING LOG === We waited for the nearby thunderstorms to die out during the first half of the night. It started to look promising around midnight, but only managed to get to partly cloudy skies for about 20 minutes or so before the clouds closed in again by 00:30. While waiting we took another set of simulated sky level data with the imager. We got a more even illumination than last night by having the doghouse door open about one inch and setting the incandescent lamp dimmer at about 50%. Like last night a vellum sheet was used as a diffuser. There are still noticeable variations across individual chips ( presumably from shadowing by the open shutters ), but the sky level was more consistent from dewar to dewar in a given filter. The i' and z' chips had sky levels around 300, the r' chips were around 80, and u' and g' were less than 10. With these sorts of level changes astroline recovered in two to four frames every time. === IMAGING RUN SUMMARY === Run Stripe Flavor Lambda Last Begin End Frame # Comments ------------------------------------------------------------------ 2420 100 O ignore 2.45 4.39 27 doghouse bias 2421 100 O ignore 49.64 55.92 54 setup for test 2422 100 O engineering 56.45 74.25 132 sky level test === IMAGING RUN DETAILS === Run 2422 contains the sky level data and the shutters were opened and closed as follows.
