Visitors: Jason Laubscher (son of Bryan, junior PT observer) OBSERVING PLAN ============== Science. Imaging as priority, then spectroscopy. OBSERVING SUMMARY ================= We never opened. Cloud all night, with intermittent light rain from ~21:00 to ~23:00. OBSERVERS' LOG ============== Poor to worse weather all night, cloud, some rain, minor dust events (pine pollen?). We did not open. The mcp failed about 22:49:12. See Problem #1 below for details. We tested Eric's fix for the grabInstruments iop/watcher/spectro problems from last night, and found it (almost) working as desired. It certainly now tells us very clearly that it has failed. endNight completed successfully, but both tapes were retained on site. This failed, so we dropped off the end of the procedure and rebooted the MCP board at 23:08. That recovered communication with the mcpMenu's, and we dutifully pressed the Rebooted buttons.
