Tested mcp v4_6_2. TCC won't track using this version. GENERAL COMMENTS (see Problems below for details): ================================================== We didn't get much further tonight than ventilating the enclosure for 15 minutes before having to close up due to weather. There was an apparently spurious ion pump pressure warning tonight around 20:10. The value stated in the critical error was .18 microTorr, substantially lower than the warning limit of 1.5 microTorr. Subsequent checks showed the pressure staying in the .1 to .2 range. While waiting on the bad weather we decided to try mcp v4_6_2. We didn't get far because for some reason when we tried a track command with the TCC it would fail due to a series of port read mismatches. See the problem sections for details. We reverted to v4_6_0 and everything returned to normal operation. Clouds thickened and accumulating snows fell between about 20:30 and 23:30 totalling around two inches. The clouds began breaking up around 01:00, eventually reaching partly cloudy conditions around 03:00. However humidity near and sometimes over the limit as well as the freshly fallen snow kept us closed. The TCC would not move the telescope with mcp v4_6_2. The menu had no problems moving the axes. An axis init from the TCC would complete normally. However when a track command was issued, a long list of port read mismatch errors from the TCC would ensue. Establishing a telnet (host) connection to the port was successful and there were no left over commands ( an OK was the first response to a carriage return ). Subsequent attempts at a track command met the same failure. Rebooting the mcp a second time did not change the behavior. Restarting telrun made no difference either.
