So all tests, which didn't require the sky, have been done tonight. We actually got into the sky shortly before sun rise and menaged to focus the eng. camera... then we closed. Spectro Monthly checkout done yesterday. Telescope fiducial tables colleted and the new tables implemented (the altitude was the only one, which had to be changed). Eng. camera checked Mirrors Homed and Relaxed. PRs: PR 2832 tested and closed. PR 2593 closed. PR 2800 closed. PR 2645 closed. PR 2664 closed. PR 2738 not closed! Guider darks: taken biasGen, biasCheck - done ---------------------------- PROBLEMS: While loading a crtridge 1, we've got plate mapper id number error see problem section. ---=== OBSERVING LOG ===--- Spectro Monthly checkout done yesterday. The PT flat-field lamp was changed per schedule. During the day and evenig: 1. Telescope fiducial tables colleted and the new tables implemented (the altitude was the only one, which had to be changed). We found a bug in the IOP plotFiducials command related to recent changes in recording encoder values. RHL fixed the bug, and SJNK cut IOP version v3_60_1 and declared it test. When a new version (v5_7_1) of MCP was made with the new altitude fiducial tables installed, very many compiler warning messages were issued. Also, the version was built with a version number "NOCVS|Nov 4 2001|20:47:20". However, test slews showed agreeably small fiducial corrections on all axes. 2. Eng. camera checked 3. Mirrors Homed and Relaxed. (MIG values taken) Peregrine request (TPM): --------------------------- PR 2832 tested and closed. We saw very consistent time dirfferences, 0.3 sec median and 0.5 at max deviation. Plate Databese (SKent): --------------------------- PR 2593 and 2800 closed. We put a various numbers in S/N End of Night task column and all were properly displayed in the Plan a night's observing site. The only number which wasn't displayed was 0. logTool (IOP v3_60_1) --------------------------- PR 2645 a) We did what we were aseked for in instruction, tryed signs suggested, placing them at the end of some lines and we could save and load the log but the backslash signs have desapeared copletely from entire text. b) Then we tried to do the same, but saved the log on one computer and on another computer, we quit from logTool and reopened it. There was no problem with loading in the previously saved log, but there was no backslash sign in the text, and the dobble quote sign turned into single quote. So, we closed PR 2645. PR 2738 NOT closed - reason: as explained above the entered text changes during procedure described above at b). Guider darks: --------------------------- guider exposure time set to 20 sec. Left: -6.46 +/- 0.50 Right: -6.63 +/- 0.48 Humidity dropped, and looks like it will stay this way -so, we decided to open. 04:45 telescope opened, eng. camera mounted. Checking focus and centering of the eng. camera. We found a star (close to 120,55 telescope postion position) only a few pixels away of the center. We didn't do anything more since clouds covered the sky... However the best gues for focus at 4.7 C was: foc= -120. The fwhm is 10.8x10.7 pixels, which means seeing was aobut 1.6" (one pixel on eng. cam corresponds to 0.15"). 05:55 We closed the telescope. We removed all previous nights data and gangs, then issued: endNight and it finished with no errors :) PR 2664 closed. ---------------------------- PROBLEMS: While loading a crtridge 1, we've got the error: SOPGUI: loadCartridge -latest 1 732 User supplied cartridge number 1 does not equal plate mapped cartridgeId 5 loadCartridge 1 732 /p/iop/v3_60_0/params/cartridgeInfo.par Loading map: /data/spectro/plugMapM/plPlugMapM-0732-52217-01.par Reading /data/spectro/plugMapM/plPlugMapM-0732-52217-01.par Taking absolute values of GUIDE fiberId Taking absolute values of ALIGNMENT fiberId User supplied cartridge number 1 does not equal plate mapped cartridgeId 5 more /data/spectro/plugMapM/plPlugMapM-0732-52217-01.par completeTileVersion v3_1_0 tileId 534 raCen 325.514 decCen 11.6473 reddeningMed 0.1674 0.1232 0.0893 0.0677 0.0480 plateVersion v3_5 plateId 732 temp 13 haMin 4 haMax 4 mjdDesign 52504 theta 0 fscanVersion v4_0_1 fmapVersion v4_0_1 fscanId 1 fscanMJD 52217 fscanMode extreme fscanSpeed 500 pluggers yarger cartridgeId 5 <======= here is a problem.
