Spectroscopy ---=== OBSERVING SUMMARY ===--- At sunset we had problems with the secondary mirror actuator limit switch connector (axis A), but French and Wendell worked it out. Because of that problem we opened later (18:20). No other major problems happened tonight. We've done 5 plates, and one started. Plates done: Cart 1 plt 755 Cart 2 plt 763 Cart 5 plt 750 Cart 7 plt 501 Cart 9 plt 412 plate started: Cart 3 plt 724 Smear has been done for all of above plates during clear sky. We closed 05:40 ---=== OBSERVING LOG ===--- 17:00 Problems with the secondary mirror actuator limit switch connector (axis A)-French and Wendell are working on it. Enclosure doors open, fans on, waiting for the switch problem to be fixed. 18:20 Telescope opened. 19:00 Cart 3 plt 724 mouted and we are ready to go. Stars found at once. After three exposures, plate not done. Smear done on the clear sky. 20:55 Cart 5 plt 750 mounted, gotoField: half of stars foud, but we used offsetADR to center them quicker than the guider could have done. 22:10 Seeing is getting miserable... (over 3")... Plate done with 4 long exposures (1200 and 1800 sec). 23:05 Cart 9 plt 412 mounted. Stars not found, but fk5 star found (we did not clear offsets from the previous plate). Plate done with 3 exposures. 00:24 Cart 1 plt 755 mounted. Stars not found, but fk5 found. fk5 rotator angle was far away from star positions angle, so we had to wait some minutes to go from stars to fk5 and back (almost 360 deg) - and we didn't find stars when we went back to gotoField with fk5 offsets. So we went +-10 sec in each direction and finaly found stars with offsets: RA: -3 DEC: 7. 01:05 Exposure paused for 30 sec, waiting for visitors to arrive (they said, thay cannot switch their car head lights off). Plate done with 3 exposures. 02:17 Cart 2 plt 763 mounted. Stars found after fk5 star RA:-2 DA:-4 offests were applied. Plate done with 3 900 sec exposures. 03:35 Cart 7 plt 501 mounted. Stars found with a help of fk5 star. Plate done with 3 exposures, but we went for additional ones, since there was no point in mounting a new cartridge 15 minutes before twilight. 05:40 telescope closed. Cart 3 plt 724 mounted. endNight rejoiced :) ---=== IMAGING RUN SUMMARY ===--- Run Stripe Flavor Lambda Last Begin End Frame Comments ------------------------------------------------------------------ ---=== IMAGING RUN DETAILS ===--- ---=== SKIPPY RESULTS ===--- Run Frame nFrames stars muErr muRms nuErr nuRms rot --------------------------------------------------------------- ---=== LTMATCH RESULTS ===--- Run Field nFields nGood rowMean rowSig colMean colSig rot --------------------------------------------------------------- ---=== SPECTROSCOPY DATA SUMMARY ===--- UT Exp Time flavor comment (S/N)^2 totals ========================================== b1 r1 b2 r2 ----- sequence 11851, plate 746 ------- 00:05 11851 0.0 bias ----- sequence 11852, plate -9999 ------- 00:35 11852 0.0 bias ----- sequence 11853, plate 724 ------- 02:21 11853 10.0 flat 02:23 11854 2.0 arc 02:47 11855 1201.0 target 03:09 11856 1200.0 target 03:32 11857 1201.0 target 03:39 11858 240.0 smear 03:42 11859 10.0 flat 03:44 11860 2.0 arc ----- sequence 11861, plate 750 ------- 04:05 11861 10.0 flat 04:07 11862 2.0 arc 04:31 11863 1200.0 target 04:53 11864 1201.0 target 05:16 11865 1201.0 target 05:49 11866 1801.0 target 05:56 11867 240.0 smear ----- sequence 11868, plate 412 ------- 06:17 11868 10.0 flat 06:19 11869 2.0 arc 06:38 11870 900.0 target 06:54 11871 703.0 target 07:08 11872 702.0 target 07:15 11873 240.0 smear ----- sequence 11874, plate 755 ------- 07:46 11874 10.0 flat 07:48 11875 2.0 arc 08:16 11876 1204.0 target 08:33 11877 901.0 target 08:56 11878 1201.0 target 09:02 11879 240.0 smear 09:05 11880 10.0 flat 09:07 11881 2.0 arc ----- sequence 11882, plate 763 ------- 09:26 11882 10.0 flat 09:29 11883 2.0 arc 09:47 11884 900.0 target 10:05 11885 901.0 target 10:23 11886 901.0 target 10:29 11887 240.0 smear ----- sequence 11888, plate 501 ------- 10:47 11888 10.0 flat 10:49 11889 2.0 arc 11:09 11890 900.0 target 11:27 11891 901.0 target 11:44 11892 900.0 target 12:02 11893 900.0 target 12:20 11894 901.0 target 12:26 11895 240.0 smear 12:29 11896 10.0 flat 12:32 11897 2.0 arc ---=== TELESCOPE OFFSETS AND SCALE I ===--- Time Instrument getclock Az Alt Rot Scale ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 19:28 3 724 1006396087 -0.044486 -0.001086 -0.004652 0.999800 21:15 5 750 1006402536 -0.039231 -0.000772 -0.005169 0.999570 23:35 9 412 1006410933 -0.043219 -0.002116 0.010598 0.999710 00:44 1 755 1006415068 -0.048524 -0.002851 0.011460 0.999950 02:52 2 783 1006422751 -0.050731 -0.001426 -0.022359 1.000040 03:53 7 501 1006426382 -0.046836 -0.000944 -0.022359 1.000170 ---=== TELESCOPE OFFSETS AND SCALE II ===--- ---=== DATA TAPE SUMMARY ===--- Goes: JL4706 Stays: JL4708 ---=== FOCUS LOG ===--- setmir piston Temp Wind Time Inst scale M1 M2 Foc Az Alt (C) MPH Dir filt fwhm ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 19:28 3 724 0.99980 1974 2825 0 -13 47.1 2.2 12 326 gdr 1.7 21:16 5 750 0.99957 4244 4656 0 -50 64.7 1.8 11 326 - 2.0 23:35 9 412 0.99971 2863 3382 -150 348 56.6 3.2 17 323 - 1.7 00:44 1 755 0.99995 494 1431 -150 101 52.9 3.5 9 37 - 2.0 01:50 1 755 0.99998 198 1151 -150 96 66.6 4.5 0 139 - 1.7 02:52 2 763 1.00004 -394 664 -150 129 65.1 4.7 22 20 - 1.9 03:52 7 501 1.00017 -1678 -348 -150 51 46.9 4.5 17 24 - 1.7 ---=== WEATHER LOG ===--- Wind Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust DIMM Sky 15:26 39 11 8 323 (NW) 383 - 15:56 37 15 12 326 (NW) 421 - 16:28 36 17 4 290 (WNW) 454 - 17:01 35 18 8 333 (NNW) 453 - 17:31 35 16 12 352 (NNW) 401 - 18:01 35 17 15 331 (NNW) 317 - 18:31 35 17 16 322 (NW) 305 - 19:03 35 17 9 315 (NW) 299 - 19:35 35 15 13 338 (NNW) 339 - 20:09 35 15 12 310 (NW) 353 - 20:40 35 16 12 305 (NW) 296 - 21:12 35 21 8 333 (NNW) 350 - 21:44 35 20 13 326 (NW) 287 - 22:15 35 18 5 346 (NNW) 310 - 22:46 37 17 6 347 (NNW) 281 - 23:17 37 16 15 329 (NNW) 285 - 23:48 37 15 11 337 (NNW) 300 - 00:18 37 15 10 345 (NNW) 266 - 00:49 38 12 11 3 (N) 272 - 01:21 40 9 10 19 (NNE) 289 - 01:54 40 10 11 356 (NNW) 254 - 02:26 40 9 13 356 (NNW) 257 - 02:58 40 9 12 18 (NNE) 233 - 03:30 40 5 14 26 (NNE) 249 - 04:02 39 10 16 26 (NNE) 123 - 04:35 39 12 17 15 (NNE) 124 - 05:06 39 16 23 11 (N) 66 - 05:40 39 16 12 8 (N) 97 - ---=== TELESCOPE STATUS ===--- 17:00 Enclosure doors open, fans on, but due to the mirror axis A limit switch connector problem we were waiting. 18:20 telescope opened. 19:00 telescope ready to go, cart 3 plt 724 mounted. 04:35 LN2 imager dewar replaced. 05:40 Telescope closed at stow position, cart 3 plt 724 mounted again. ---=== SOFTWARE USED ===--- IOP/SOP: v3_60_2 Watcher: v2_12_1 MCP: v5_7_2 TPM: v2_4_3 AstroDa: v14_39 TCC: 2.5.5 sdssProcedures: v1_32 ---=== MIRROR NUMBERS ===--- PRIMARY: -------- Scale: 1.000000 MIGS TONIGHT NOMINAL Axial A 0.0740 0.0710 Axial B 0.8040 0.8030 Axial C 0.0650 0.0640 Trans D -1.4970 -1.4590 Lateral E 1.8410 1.8600 Lateral F 1.4160 1.4280 GALILS Commanded: 5400. -3700. 900. -200. 31550. 30650.
