It was snowing all night long. We had power outage due to the snow storm and we were on the generator few times during the night. The air compressor did not come back on when we went to regular power. We took many flat exposures suggested by Jim G. to find out the cause of the Ar lines. GENERAL COMMENTS (see Problems below for details): ================================================== Jurek and Scot spent many hours going over software and mailing lists. Around 2:30 or so, the site power switched to the generator. Around 3:15 or so, we heard an alarm inside the ops building. It turns out that the utility building was not getting any power, and Jack was running around with Mark on the phone to fix this. This resulted in the site not having pressured air caused tbar critical errors. We woke up Connie to make sure the imager was not in any danger. "cc imstat" showed TBARS !!!_FAULT_!!! VAC_PRESS 11 # KPA_ABS and LATCH_PRESS_DEWAR showed 5 relative to vacuum source. Normally, they are 0. She said that as long as the imager is not moved, it should be ok. The imager was/is in the dog house and we had no plans of moving it. BTW, when we were on the site generator, the air compressor was getting power, but when we went back to regular power, the compressor did not have power. Mark will make sure all is working properly. When the generator kicked in, we got, TBARS LATCHED VAC_PRESS 11 # KPA_ABS in cc imstat and the critical error message in watcher stopped. All night long, we had many blinking lights and UPS buzz in the control room. We got exposures requested by Jim G. for finding out where the Ar lines are coming from. We had mis-communication and frames 8248-8252 were taken with HgCd all covered and Ne uncovered one lamp at a time. In the description of which lamps were covered/uncovered, we called the lamps closest to counter weight 1 is called lamp 1, the lamps closest to counter weight 2 is called lamp 2 and so on. While Jurek was climbing up and down the ladder to cover, uncover these lamps (btw, the cryo gloves are perfect for covering these lamps), he noticed there are light sources close to where the lamps are located. Could these be the sources of the Red Monster? But whey are they only seen in all exposures?? French was wondering if Holloman could be the contaminating source (Red Monster) --- is there any position dependence with the appearance of the Red Monster? Jurek showed me that if the MCP menu buttons are "enabled" and you put the mouse on e.g. "slithead extracted", it can be extracted WITHOUT actually clicking. This is very dangerous. Jurek says he has done "axis init" without clicking, but by having the mouse on the "axis init" button. Jurek filed his first PR on this. endNight ran happily and successfully. We decided to save the frames we took for Jim's test and shipped them to FNAL.
