We got only one science exposure... TELESCOPE STATUS: ================= Stowed at 30 deg alt with cart 3. INTERLOCKS: =========== None bypassed SOFTWARE USED: ============== IOP/SOP: v3_17_5_2 Watcher: v2_8_3 MCP: v4_3_2b TPM: v2_0_0 AstroDa: 14_33 TCC: 2.4.0b2 WEATHER SYNOPSIS (see below for hourly data): ============================================= clouds went away by sunset. we opened in twilight, but had close due to lightening/clouds approach around 11pm. ~1am, it started to rain.... GENERAL COMMENTS (see Problems below for details): ================================================== Ron fixed astroDa so that GANG files will have proper headers. IOP will be cut with the new astroDa tomorrow. Norm and John Briggs fixed the cartridge bay elevator problem this afternoon. Scott B. and Dave S. tell us that cart 9 plate 395 data from last night are indeed good. We declare it done! While we were filling LN2 into the spectro dewars, we noticed that after loss of 40lb from the 180l dewar, the spectro dewars were still not full. It turned out that the pressure in the 180l dewar (10psi) was too low to fill the dewar -- LN2 was evaporating before filling the dewar. We ended up swapping the dewar to a higher pressure one (> 20psi). We should have just build the pressure by opening the pressure building valve according to Norm's email sent out earlier today. We then put on cart 3 and went to the field -- or we thought we went to the field. Apparently, the telescope aborted its motion in ALT~80. Naturally when we took gcam image at the field and then fk5 star image, there was no star. By moving the telescope via MCP menu down to 70 degrees and then going to the field did bring the telescope to where it was suppose to point. We found guide stars after doing rotateAbout 10 -200. we do not know what caused the ALT to abort. We filed a PR. During our first science exposure, the clouds and lightening accompanying the clouds forced us to close. The MIGS for the primary A,B,C are off more than they should be. (see numbers in the mirror section) One of the pressure gauges for the PMSS reads 10 instead of nominal 15-17. Is it possible to get a real LST and MJD clock in the control room? endNight ran successfully.
