SYNOPSIS FOR NIGHT: =================== Closed all night. No operations. TELESCOPE STATUS: ================= DIMM: ----- No data. INTERLOCKS: ----------- None bypassed. SOFTWARE USED: -------------- IOP/SOP: v3_10_1 Watcher: v2_6_7 MCP: v4_0_1 WEATHER SYNOPSIS (see below for hourly data): ============================================= Mostly cloudy to cloudy first half. Clearing second half. Winds often over limit. Light snow early. Blowing snow much of the night. GENERAL COMMENTS (see Problems below for details): ================================================== Since the Sunspot Highway was very treacherous it was decided that operations would be suspended for the night. Andy Connolly who is staying on site was instructed on how to fill the spectrographs, so that they will remain cold. The imager safed itself during the day when a power hit stopped the flow of coolant for a while. The camera warmed enough before the LN2 system was restarted that it was decided to leave it in safe mode until someone could get to the site in the morning and restart cooling. The watchdog timeout was not a critical error and so the watcher did not warn as loudly as it could have of this problem. Robert Lupton has changed the watcher to correct this. When I logged on this evening, I found both galils lost ( consistent with a power hit ). I homed the optics, but I couldn't put the telescope at 87 deg to relax the primary. Even so, the MiG readings were pretty close. DATA ACQUISITION (see IOP/SOP output below): =========================================== IMAGING: -------- None. SPECTROSCOPY: ------------- None.
