SYNOPSIS: ========= Seven plates done ( 385, 404, 410, 430, 431, 439, 447 ). GENERAL COMMENTS (see Problems below for details): ================================================== It was about as good a night for spectroscopy as you can get. Any better and we'd have done imaging. The skies started out the night with a fair amount of cirrus, so we started with spectroscopy. Skies cleared around 21:00, but east winds kept the seeing poor. The winds eventually shifted, but the seeing remained too high to switch to imaging. Only after 4:30 did it drop to the point where imaging would have been in spec, which was too late. I suspect a lot of this was due to thermal issues, as the 3.5m had 0.8 to 1.4 arcsecond seeing much of the night.
