Russell, Larry and Jim were working on the M2 support system when we started, so we decide to test the Imager. Jim helped us get the Imager turned on and the TEC coolers going. We had trouble staying connected to the Imager at first until we realized that the pump for the TECs was not on. We may also have had trouble with the micros dying, but we are not 100% sure. During start up we had trouble with the Watcher not connecting to the server. We tried stopping and restarting the servers several times. We did manage to get Watcher to connect to the server once early in the night, but we lost the connection after about an hour and could not get the connection back. (PR# 688) We also noted that the murmur server was reporting UNKNOWN values for disk space usage. (PR# 693) This was tracked down by Connie as being caused by the IOP DA server not broadcasting messages. We also note that the IOP im and IOP sop servers could not connect to the IOP DA server. Connie was able to get the IOP DA server going with the startServer command in IOP, but when we tried it we got an error message about 'failed to connect to im' While stopping and restarting the IOP servers we noted that the commands 'start_servers -K' and 'start_servers -k' were not killing the existing servers. We killed the servers by typing 'exit' in the server windows. (PR# 690) We had trouble restarting the teamster due to a file that couldn't be deleted in /tmp (.teamster.imager) we deleted them from the superuser account and were then able to restart the teamster. (PR# 689) We needed to reboot the crates once during the night when the camera shut itself down unexpectedly during a bias run (the shutdown was caused by the pump in the TEC not being on). We tried to reboot the crates using the 'initNight -crateReboot' command. We rebooted the crates from the reset button on the crates. (PR# 692) We tried running endNight and this failed in shiptape due to a bad reference to perl in tapeShip.pl. (PR# 694) We did manage to talk to the camera both by logging directly into the port and through iop. We took one set of biases, and confirmed that the watchdog will shut the camera down if there is not coolant flowing. Russell and Larry finished their work on the M2 support at around 11pm. We took the imager off the telescope at the end of the night and it is now in the doghouse. We ran into the following problems while trying to take the imager off. 1) One of the Flat Field sensor was broken and Russell and Larry tried to tape it shut, unfortunately the tape was not strong enough to fully depress the switch. We thought there was an override switch on the interlock splitter chassis for the Flat Field sensor, but could not find it. We ended up overriding the Alt_UP_perm and Alt_DN_perm in order to move the telescope. This made us really nervous, but it was not obvious what a better solution would be. (PR# 697 and 695) 2) We had to override MCP monitor in order to move in Alt (we are not sure why) When the monitor is off the brake status does not get correctly reported to the MCP Menu. (PR# 695) 3) When we tried to move the counterweights in the MCP Menu the counterweights would move a fraction of the way and the stop. We could move the weight using the panel downstairs. If we kept issuing the same counterweight motion in the MCP we could finally get the weight to the commanded position. The first command all 4 weights move part way, the second command the 1st weight moved all the way down and the other three only moved a little bit, the third time the 3rd weight move all the way down and the last two moved a bit and the final time both the 2nd and 4th counterweights moved all the way down. (PR# 696) 4) The lights for the camera protection bolts in the latch box are not lighting up properly. The 'out' lights are wired backwards and the 'in' light are wired correctly, but not being engaged by the bolts (PR# 698) 5) The sensor for the 15-degree stop is loose and if it is bumped the proper status for retracted of extended is not read.
