Winds: ~15 mph steady and gusts up to 25 mph. On tap tonight, a repeat from last night: use the pointing model from 20 May and conduct guiding tests for the spectrographs. We opened at about 9 pm MDT. The CW were still set of 340 for the cartridge + corrector combination. As we finished the opening sequences, we discovered that the clouds had rolled in. We tried to wait it out, but then we saw lightening to the NW of us. We closed up at 9:45 pm MDT. At 10:30 pm MDT there was a spectacular lightening display in the valley below. At 11:45 pm MDT made another visual inspection of the sky (the cloud monitor being turned off due to lightening), and the weather was still unco-operative. At about 1 am MDT the clouds moved out, but the dewpoint kept us from opening. (Along with the lightening flashes to the NE.) We called it a night at 3:35 am MDT. Jeffrey and Ellyne
