High winds, high dust, and ever thickening clouds kept us closed. The large shield of clouds coming up from Northern Mexico made it ... err clear by about 23:00 that we would not be able to open tonight. Charlie did some testing of MCP mod's by running the rotator around. Once it was obvious the clouds were here to stay, Connie started her work on the imager. She expects to be finished tonight. So far things have gone well. I noticed the display on the counterweight control panel for weight number 2 was reading zero, despite the fact that the weight appeared to be in the same position as all the others ( about 690 ). The cable to the string pot seemed to be connected. I'm not sure exactly what work was done in and around the controller today, but something may have gotten bumped during the work on the VME crate. It's probably something minor, but we do need it operational with all the upcomming work with spectrographs, cartridges, etc. Dan
