ARC 3.5-m Future Plans and Upgrades

ARCES
- 2012-05-17: UPDATE:Replacement grating will be put into the instrument during the period of summer shutdown (July 18, 2012 - August 30, 2012).
- 2012-01-24: Echelle grating expected to arrive at APO any day. Planned installation is to be scheduled during the second quarter of 2012.
- 2012-01-24: Echelle slitviewer upgrade will take place during Q1 of 2012. The replacement camera is on site receiving software development and bench testing. COMPLETE
DIS
- 2012-01-01: CIF upgrade of the DIS Slitviewer camera, mechanicals and optics for sometime in 2012. We hope to devise a new system which will allow for better focus adjustment and larger FOV. The hope is we will maintain a closer relationship between science grade chip focus and slitviewer focus.
GFP/GIFS
- Planned integration into TUI is currently on schedule for the end of the calendar (2012) year
New APO Imager
- Fall 2012: Currently in preliminary discussions for a replacemnt to SPIcam
